Rowan Gant is a Witch. His bane is to see things that others cannot. To feel things he wishes he could not. To experience events through the eyes of another... Through the eyes of victims... Sometimes, the things he sees are evil... Criminal... Because of this, in the span of less than two years, Rowan has come face to face with not one, but two sadistic serial killers... In both cases he was lucky to survive. Still, he abides the basic rule of The Craft—Harm None. This predator could make Rowan forget that rule...

  • The above list order may be modified at any time to accomodate new participants or those who withdraw from the ring. So you should always refer to the list included in this journal entry before mailing the book after you've finished with it.
  • After messaging the next person in the list for their address, you should allow at least a week for a reply, to allow for vacations, etc. You may also want to send more than one PM if they don't reply the first time since BookCrossing PMs sometimes get lost in transit. In Search Of (ISO) posts in the Bookring Forum also work well. And of course, remember to check their profile page in case they've posted news of their whereabouts, or an email address that is more reliable than BookCrossing PMs. If you still haven't heard from them after 1-1/2 to 2 weeks, skip them and move on to the next person in the list. (Also note this in the journal entry so I don't think that person was accidentally overlooked.)
  • Please post a journal entry here (1) when you first receive the book so we all know it has arrived safely, and (2) after you've finished reading it and are ready to send it along. Of course, please include your thoughts and opinions on the book itself too. :)
  • For courtesy sake, please try not to keep this book for more than 6 weeks—or 12 weeks for both books—as others are also waiting to read it. If you don't think you can get to the book in that timeframe, you can request to be skipped over and/or added to the end of the ring instead. I don't mind if you need to keep it a little bit longer, but just use your best judgement so as not to hold up the ring for all the participants waiting behind you.
  • Late particpants are welcome—PM me if you'd like to join. Be sure to specify your shipping preferences, and I'll accommodate them if I can. If you're joining the ring after it's already begun shipping, know that your place in the list will be determined based on your geographic location in conjunction with what is best for the other participants. And it may not always be possible to honor requests to ship only within a particular region.
  • Please do not ask to join any of my rings if you're not a responsible and reliable BookCrosser. If you happen to see someone in the list who you believe is questionable, please let me know immediately. I do research names I don't recognize and use a number of methods for spotting bad Crossers, but I certainly appreciate any additional info.
  • Remember that at the end of the list, THIS BOOK SHOULD BE RETURNED TO ME, not released into the wild. I enjoy rereading my favorite books over time, and lend them out to other people in my life too, who are not necessarily members of BookCrossing.
  • Finally, I like to ask the US participants of my rings who are shipping overseas to consider all shipping options in addition to surface mail. Particularly with lightweight books weighing less than 16 ounces, Air Mail or Global Priority Mail (GPM) is sometimes a more efficient shipping option for certain countries, and certainly worth it to cut the shipping time down by a month or two.

THANKS AND ENJOY THE ROWAN GANT INVESTIGATIONS!

I found the third book in the Rowan Gant series easier to read and not as gory as the others. Rowan is still haunted by his brush with death, and is practically the only one who believes that Eldon Porter, the witch hunter, still lives. Because of this, he is experiencing chilling nightmares, which lead him to the site of a death still being ivestigated by the police. His wife Felicity and his friend Ben Storm have agreed to keep him out "police business" and are not pleased when Rowan starts meddling again.
The plot has a few twists, but in the last third of the book I already knew who the killer was. The cheerleader and the hypnosis spooked me a bit, though.
Felicity has developed an unfortunate habit of saying "Aye" and "then", but at least we don't hear much about her "flame-tresses".
The book is now ready to mail to catsalive.
Thanks for sharing, CheriePie!

Book received, thanks Metropolitan.

Despite Sellars' note, I notice the "grammatical anomalies" have cleaned up their act considerably. I was also happy to note that we've lost the "man" &, like Metropolitan, we are not subject to constant "flame-haired, raven-tressed" abuse, for which I am truly greatful. I'm just hoping that the "aye" will not be so prevalent in the next book.

I found this one a lot slower if less gory, but the story was just as engrossing as the previous 2 books, and more enjoyable because many of the earlier irritations have been removed. It may be slower than the others but the story still moved quite well & was very easy reading. I think I'm liking our protagonists more now. Previously, I liked the fast-paced storyline but wasn't terribly keen on the characters, perhaps because of the constant repetition of irritating commonplaces. I'm even starting to like Felicity, red hair and all. I was disappointed to see little of the cats & dogs but I guess they had no part to play in this tale. Sellars comes up with some really nasty baddies, doesn't he?

Thanks again, CheriePie. This series is very entertaining & I look forward to The Law of Three. I am awaiting a response from Ada2 - I'll give her another week before contacting Alithia. Does that sound fair? Hope so. Regards, catsalive.

I must say I wasn't too impressed with this installment in the series. Mostly I was just irritated by Rowan. Even if I did know why he behaved like he did, I found him rather annoying. In fact, I found all the characters rather annoying. I can't put my finger on it why. Maybe it's just the general writing style. In any case, I need a break from Mr. Gant before I start reading the next book. Will thus read something else first and then the other Rowan Gant book still with me before I'll pass it on to CandyDarling.

Thanks for your patience!

RELEASE NOTES:

Off to CandyDarling. Enjoy!

I finished this book a couple a weeks ago. It was a quick read, as the story sucked me in and I had to know how it would end. M.R. Sellars' writing style is a bit annoying, especially the "aye" which everyone else has already commented on. :)

I'm a bit disappointed in this series though, as I picked it up mainly because the main character is a witch. I realized while reading this book, that one Yule ritual is not really enough pagan content for me, as I'm more interested in everyday Wicca than Rowan's supernatural abilities. So if all I'm getting is a murder mystery, why not read books by a better writer? I guess I'm still hoping there would be actual Wiccan content, although so far the fourth book seems to have even less.

Thank you CheriePie for sending out these books as rings! I'm really grateful for having the chance to read them through bookcrossing! I have pm'd Dodau for her address, will mail the books once I've finished The Law of Three.

Thanks!

Interesting switch on the abilities, although I guessed it long before the main character did. Is RM Sellers just interested in putting his character through major amounts of pain? I wonder. And at last we have a reason for the many references to auburn hair. :D

PM'd Adrienne10 & hope to get this out to the next person.
