Never Let Me Go

In one of the most acclaimed and strange novels of recent years, Kazuo Ishiguro imagines the lives of a group of students growing up in a darkly skewered version of contemporary England.

I quickly became wrapped up in the lives of Kathy, and her Hailsham friends Ruth and Tommy, right until I turned the last page feeling moved and slightly unnerved. But unfortunately it never delivers anything plotwise!

Decided to take this from Redhouse's boxbook # 9, thanks Redhouse!
..... and 5635 days later I start to read it.... sorry it's taken me so long!
I’m finding it difficult to explain how I feel about this novel. Obviously a large part of it is who are these children and what kind of institute are they in and why? You really don’t understand this until close to the end, maybe that’s just me and I missed an important clue, but once it was revealed I felt an overwhelming empathy and sadness around the whole thing. I don’t really want to write to much and give anything away but as with a lot of Ishiguro’s work it’s beautifully written and thought-provoking.
KT-J has already read this so I'll look for a new reader and pass it on.
