Brought this book, as I am reviewing it for my local book group.

Blurb on the back.... In one of the most acclaimed and original novels of recent years, Kazuo Ishigoru imagines the lives of a group of students growing up in a darkly skewed version of contemporary England. Narrated by Kathy, now 31, Never Let Me Go hauntingly dramatises her attempts to come to terms with her childhood at the seemingly idyllic Haisham School, and with the fate that has always awaited her and her closest friends in the wider world. A story of love, friendship and memory, NLMG is charged throughout with a sense of fragility of life.

The comments from my book group are mainly the same as those expressed by the book critics!

I am sending on to bookcrosser Lizziepie, as part of a bookswap. Let me know how you get on with it.

It took me a little while to get into this but once I did I really enjoyed it. Certainly quite an original book and really well written, even with the disturbing story being told.

Having been highly recommended this book by a fellow bookcrosser it duly arrives with someone else at the Walthamstow bookcrossing meet (27/9/06). How could I resist!

I've been told not to read any journal entries or comments or recommendations so I'll try not to.

I read this book some time ago and really enjoyed it - I hadn't known the story so appreciated the reveal. This has been on my daughter's bookshelf for some time as a recommendation from Mum but it seems she isn't going to read it so I will share elsewhere.
