Sex, lies and reality TV...

When Sunny Langstein decides to pack up her Florida life and move in with her boyfriend in Manhattan, her big sister isn't thrilled. What modern-day twenty-four-year-old leaves her promising career, fabulous friends and perfect underground parking spot with accompanying convertible for... a guy?

Only, Sunny has an additional incentive: the chance to star on "Party Girls," the latest reality-television show. True, she might become a national laughingstock and it pays nothing, BUT it's a job -- a job in Manhattan. She'll get to be with her boyfriend, Steve. Okay, so she can't TELL anyone she isn't single -- but with freebie designer clothes, alpha-beta peels and coconut-cream pedicures to make her transformation into a made-for-TV single girl complete... she can't lose!

But when the show's premiere plunges Sunny into a media frenzy of talk shows, tampon endorsements, TV heartthrobs and S&M toys, how long will it take for Sunny to lose track of where she ends and her alter ego, Sunny Lang the Über Fashionista Single Superstar, begins?

Bookray Rules

1. Reading has to be relaxing, I find. So I'm not going to set a rule that you have to finish the book within one month or within three weeks. But, of course it's not preferable that the book will stall somewhere. Please keep in mind others are waiting to read the book so keeping it for two months is not appropriate either. If you don’t think you will be able to read the book in a timely manner, please let me know. I can move you further down the list, if necessary.

2. When the book arrives, please let us know that you received it, by making a journal entry.

3. Start reading :-) When you're more than halfway through the book, PM the next person for their address.

4. When you've finished the book, make another journal entry with your thoughts.

5. Release the book to the next person on the list.

6. The last person on the list may release the book in the manner of their choosing!

7. Have Fun & Happy Reading!

Thanks for starting this one again sharalsbooks. I'm looking forward to reading this book next - I've got to finish Catch-22 first. I'm almost there. This will be a nice change of pace! :0)

What would we do without reality TV? It is hard to tell but funny to see that even the subject of reality tv can make it into a romance novel. While Sunny fumbles with her life on and off the reality TV show called Party Girls, she finds that she needs to make a decision in her life. Will she settle for an OK life as an Ad Exec. and an average Joe boyfriend or does she want to aim for living the life of a glamorous TV star with a hunky famous TV star?

Overall Sarah Mlynowski knows how to write a fun chick lit book. I've read Milkrun and Monkey Business, and I definitely recommend those two books as well. (Thanks for starting the ray up again sharalsbooks!) This book will be on its way to lisabb2 next. Happy Reading!

I received this book in the mail today. Yay! I have been really excited to read this one for a long time so I'm delighted that it's here. I have one book to finish before I can start it, but I will have it back on the road as soon as possible. Thanks!

Edit 05/30/2006 - Thanks to being sick over the long weekend I had plenty of time to read this book. It wasn't what I was expecting at all, but I enjoyed it just the same. Mlynowski never fails to disappoint. Many, many thanks for sharing As Seen on Tv! I'd love to see these characters make an encore performance. I'll be passing the book along tomorrow...

This is a romance novel? Huh? I would have thought Chic Lit. Anyway, it was a perfect fun, fast summer read. I am a sucker for reality shows and now I will have even more fun thinking about Sunny's justifications for being there. :) Thanks for sharing, sharalsbooks. I have PMed sgscarcliff and will send this as soon as I get an address.

Journal Entry 11 by fizzfred from Sacramento, California USA on Tuesday, June 27, 2006
Sent to sgscarcliff today. Enjoy!

I enjoyed the book. It is a nice diversion. I think Sunny would have been real hard to deal with for a while. But it ended well.

Apologies for taking so long to move this on. I didn't realise it was a ring and it got lost in the TBR pile. After a reminder I have read it and am now ready to move it on. Sorry again

Good book. I love her writing style. Even the dumbest ideas seem great when she writes them. Thanks for sharing. Passing this on to Stacy within the next day or 2 (whenever I get to the post office).

Journal Entry 23 by spaceystacey from Bridgeton, New Jersey USA on Tuesday, October 23, 2007
Received in the post. Have already tried to contact the next participant on the ray but to no avail. His/her pm is disabled. Have sent pm to the originator of the ray to see if she has new screen name or something else.

Book will be sent onto Ri next week. I have a few pages to mend, glue came undone. Still perfectly readable though.

Fast paced read about a young couple, just starting to live together in New York, once she relocates from Florida. Her first job in the big apple is the tale.

Journal Entry 24 by Ri from Cincinnati, Ohio USA on Wednesday, November 21, 2007
Wow! Such a well traveled book! This great surprise was waiting for me when I got home from a nearly month-long trip! Thanks!!
