A Canticle for Leibowitz
2 journalers for this copy...
Down the long centuries after the Flame Deluge scoured the earth clean, the monks of the Order of St. Leibowitz the Engineer kept alive the ancient knowledge. In their monastery in the Utah desert, the preserved the precious relics of their founder: the blessed blueprint, the sacred shopping list and the holy shrine of the Fallout Shelter.
Watched over by an immortal wanderer, they witnessed humanity's rebirth from ashes, and saw re-enacted the eternal drama of the struggle between light and darkness, life and death.
One of the great classics of science fiction, and genres aside, a great classic in its own right: richly imaginative, visionary in scope, it's a fascinating, brilliant tale.

Finally got around to reading this book. I found it a bit confusing at times and not wuite what I had expected. It reminded me of "The Years of Rice and Salt".
