This book was quite difficult to read at times due to the inhumane way some of the characters were treated. However, it was a very powerful story and I was totally drawn into in the story and how all the events would play out. This book is being sent around the world as a ray and I look forward to hearing what others think. The order of the ray:
missprisy
breeze144
kayjay33
starrdust
cross-patch
froggirlwendy
boirina

It took me longer than anticipated to start reading this book, but I have now finished it and have sent a message to Cross-patch to get a mailing address so that this wonderful book can continue its journey. I'm so glad to have had the opportunity to read this book as part of the Ray ~ thanks sabeena29 for organizing this. It's a compelling story that drew me right into the life & thoughts of the main character ~ and not one that I will easily forget. A moving story that hits on realities not always easy to face or read about, but filled with a genuine perspective of the human spirit.

I loved it! Khaled Hosseini is a real story teller - I felt I knew all the characters intimately. Sad turn of events but you knew it would happen that way, though, right from the beginning.
I have boirina's address and will go to the post tomorrow.
