Blurb from the back of the book:
The world of Ben Bartholomew ...

It is a world of standover gangs and armed terrorists, a world in which a P.I. for hire must carry a gun if he wants to love beyond lunchtime ...

It is a world of religious fanatics, petty tyrants, spies and nightmares, which explode with intrigue and danger when a corpse disappears from a sealed tomb.

The Case of the Vanishing Corpse is the ultimate locked-room mystery."

Note from the author - Just as Shakespeare performed in modern dress is till Shakespeare, so history in modern dress is still history. Despite the telephones, guns, cars and pizzas that you will find in this book, the central events of this story and real historical events. In other words, The Case of the Vanishing Corpse is history in modern dress.

This is an interesting recreation of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus as a humerous murder mystery invloving the main characters from the biblical story in a (sort-of) modernised Roman setting with P.I. Ben Bartholomew. An interesting and fun read.

From the sign:

Just don't look unrder the floor!

Feel something creepy around here? You should! Some very creepy things have happened here.

The US Army constructed this facility during World War II as a morgue to prepare their fallen for the long journay home. In fact, it's the only building left on the main campus which was built by the Americans.

Under the floor, the original concrete drains still exist. But these drains weren't built to drain away water. Enough information?

Initially after the service left, the General Staff Manager and his families called this building home. Maybe the spirits scared them away, but they left in 1950, and the building stood empty, until the pool was complete in 1954. Then, the spirits had to look the other way, as it became the women's changing room.

It was renovated on 1959 and is now the campus chapel.

Found in the fork of a tree at Gatton College Campus. Intruiged by the idea of books circulating around by happenstance, but it didnt look like my cup of tea so I gave it to a friend to read. He recommended that I have a look, and I thought the concept was quite novel (pun), and not a bad read.
I was visiting Melbourne for a look around with my daughter, so I thought it,d be appropiate to rerelease the tale at the other end of the country, but where?
Seeing I found it near a chapel and the theme was somewhat religious, I was on the lookout for a suitable church, and somewhere dry as some rain damage had made the bookcrossing i.d. no. hard to read. Found the very place after a ferry trip down the Yarra to Williamstown, at the St. Andrews Presby. Church. The back entrance gate is wrought iron supported by some very elaborate scrolled posts which have a little cavity at the base just big enough to house said novel, which can be seen quite clearly as you approach the gate. Should be sheltered from the weather in all but a howling storm.
Hope you read this aleonblue, your great idea is continuing its journey.
