Cold Sassy Tree
3 journalers for this copy...
I got this from my high school and thought I should pass it along.
Back cover blurb:
"It Hurts to Turn the Last Page"
Cold Sassy, Georgia, had never been a whirlpool of excitement. If the preacher's wife's petticoat showed, the ladies could make the talk last a week. But on July 5, 1906, things took a scandalous turn. That was the day E. Rucker Blakeslee, proprietor of the general store and barely three weeks a widower, eloped with Miss Love Simpson- a woman half his age and, worse yet, a Yankee! On that day Will Tweedy's adventures began and an unimpeachably pious, deliviously irreverent town came to life.

I just wanted to log in and let you know I found the book on a park bench at the Hidden Pond Park in Springfield, VA. I started reading it (and enjoying it) but then things got very crazy. I plan to finish it this summer and pass it a long. I'll check in again when I've finished.
And thank you to the person who left it. It really gave me a great feeling and I can't wait to finish it and leave it for the next reader.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
RELEASE NOTES:
I really enjoyed this book. It was a fun read with interesting characters but it also offered so much more. Interesting storylines that include race relations, religion, economic divides, and much more. This is my first time releasing a book and I'm excited to see where it goes from here!

I caught this wonderful book on the way to a house warming in Downtown denver. It was sitting on the sidewalk leaning nonchalantly against a lamppost, with a "come hither" look on its cover. I loved this book! It challenged my preconceived notions regarding country, uneducated and farming folk. Reminded me a bit of one of my all time favorite books The Grapes of Wrath by Steinbeck. A friend of mine wishes to barrow this book from me and then I intend to rerelease it into the wild.
