FROM THE PUBLISHER
A young mother is recuperating in a San Francisco hospital when she is suddenly gasping for breath. The call button fails to bring help in time. The hospital's doctors, some of the best in the nation, are completely mystified by her death. How did this happen?

APOCALYPSE NEARS.

This is not the first such case at the hospital. Just as patients are about to be released with a clean bill of health, their conditions take a devastating turn for the worse.

Accompanied by the newest member of the Women's Murder Club, Yuki Castellano, Lieutenant Lindsay Boxer probes deeper into the incidents. Could these cases just be appalling coincidences? Or is a maniac playing God with people's lives? When someone close to the Women's Murder Club begins to exhibit the same frightening symptoms, Lindsay fears no one is safe.

Journal Entry 2 by candieb from Austin, Texas USA on Monday, February 20, 2006
I miss the "solving it together" of the women's club. This one, like the last one, was more focused on Lindsay. Good story, but I will admit, I had figured out the "whodunnit" pretty early on, although I didn't figure out the court case thing until the very end :-)

This one is reserved for BigrTex

Going out to BigrTex... enjoy!

Journal Entry 4 by BigrTex from Colorado Springs, Colorado USA on Friday, March 3, 2006
It's been a busy week. I got home from a business trip to Milwaukee at midnight on Tuesday and found this in the mailbox. I had started it before I fell asleep that night and will finish it this weekend. I hope to send out some PMs this weekend to start setting up a bookray for it.

Thanks!

Journal Entry 5 by BigrTex from Colorado Springs, Colorado USA on Tuesday, March 7, 2006
I finished this on Saturday, and started sending invites for the bookray today.

This series has gone downhill. It's hard to maintain somethng as good as the first couple of books in this series. I appreciated that there was more participation by the group in this volume than there was in 4th of July, but the case wasn't solved by the Murder Club. There were some interesting turns at the end, but I had most of it figured out from early on. I will continue to read Patterson because they are so easy to fall into and so easy to finish.

I am PM'ing everyone with it on their wishlist that I thought might be interested. I have started by inviting people who have participated in my other rings/rays successfully.ay This ring is still open, but anyone else wishing to join will be added to the end, and only if shipping preferences allow.

  How my bookray works:
+ Someone will PM you for your address, PM them back
      - If you are swamped, ask them to skip you and PM me and I'll move you down the list
      - Otherwise, send them your address
+ You receive the book, please make a journal entry letting everyone know that you received it
+ Put the book at the top of your TBR pile (under other rings/rays that arrived first)
+ Read the book (take your time and enjoy the book, don't feel rushed to finish it)
+ When the end is in sight, check the book's journal and PM the next person to get their address
+ Finish the book, make another journal entry and let everyone know what you thought of the book
+ Send the book to the next person on the list, make release notes (Controlled Release)
or journal entry to let everyone know that it's in the mail
  * Feel free to PM me at any time with questions *

Ray Completed
Enjoy!

Journal Entry 7 by khillz28 from Oakboro, North Carolina USA on Monday, April 3, 2006
I have to agree these books aren't what they used to be. This story seemed a little fragmented to me. The ending was a total suprise..and that's good, never have thought it. Like Tex I enjoy these books because they are a quick & easy read. Thank you for sharing...off to schoolinathome in tomorrows mail.

Journal Entry 10 by schoolinathome from Birmingham, Alabama USA on Tuesday, April 18, 2006
I finished this last night. I would normal finish a Patterson in a day or so. But I am only getting a little reading in each night so it took me almost a week.
I actually liked this one better than 4th July. I did know the whodunnit, but even knowing that it was still more interesting than the last.
I will too keep reading Patterson.

Thanks BigrTex for sharing. I have Pm'ed Bksfamly and will get this out as soon as I get an address.

This went in the mail to bksfamly on 4/20/06.

Journal Entry 11 by bksfamly from Peoria, Arizona USA on Thursday, April 27, 2006
Received in the Mail today. I will start it this weekend. I currently am reading another book and have about 200 pages left.

Journal Entry 12 by bksfamly from Peoria, Arizona USA on Wednesday, May 3, 2006
I agree with everyone that this series involves the Murder club less than the previous books. I do still enjoy the series though, it is easy to read. As for figuring out whodonit it was rather easy. I did like the twist in the court case.

I will PM fungirl503 right away.

Journal Entry 13 by bksfamly from Peoria, Arizona USA on Thursday, May 11, 2006

I read this book in 12 hours! Fast pace easy to read. some one is doing mercy killing in the hospital. The hospital is also has a court hearing about the killings and the victims familys should get a reward for the wrong med cases.
This book is going to the next person.

Thanks for including me in this ring. I received the book today. I won't be able to start reading it for a couple of days, because I just started 4th of July. I thought I would be finished with it before this one showed up, but media mail was speedy this time. I'll journal again when I'm done reading.

Just finished reading the book and I liked it. I don't think this book was quite as good as the first three in this series, but it was definitely worth reading. I like how James Patterson's work seems to flow so fast and he really pares down the words to what you need. No needless adverbs or adjectives.

Journal Entry 19 by sleepymom from Durango, Colorado USA on Saturday, June 3, 2006
Recieved today. Will read it this week at work. Am currently reading another book but it is slow going so I will read this before I finish the other one.

Journal Entry 20 by sleepymom from Durango, Colorado USA on Monday, June 5, 2006
Had a quiet and easy night tonight and finished this book in just a few hours. Definitely not as good as the first couple but still enjoyable. I do miss having more of the girls and the murder club. There are some interesting twists and turns at the end.

Have PM'd T02S03B11D20 and will get it in the mail this week.

Journal Entry 21 by sleepymom from Durango, Colorado USA on Friday, June 9, 2006
Finally got it in the mail to the next person today. Thanx again for including me.

Just received this book yesterday...I am looking forward to reading it.

Journal Entry 23 by wingT02S03B11D20wing from Springport, Michigan USA on Tuesday, June 27, 2006
I have finished this book. I have PM'd the next person in line twice, to no avail. I will wait a few more days in case she is on vacation, then contact the owner of the book to see if I can move to the next person.

I have to agree with previous posts. The book was good enough, with some twists and turns. But as far as it being about the "Murder Club", it was not. In fact, other than talking about the members going about their regular jobs, none of them had any input in solving the crimes.

Journal Entry 24 by wingT02S03B11D20wing from Springport, Michigan USA on Tuesday, July 4, 2006
Since I got no replies from the next two people on the list, this book will be sent out to "Mothertoboys" on the 5th. Hope you enjoy it!

Journal Entry 25 by mothertoboys from Warwick, Rhode Island USA on Tuesday, July 11, 2006
I just received this in the mail. Can't wait to read it. I still have to finish the book I'm reading now before I start it and hopefully I'll get 4th of July by then and be able to read them in order and still get them out within 30 days. I won't wait too long though so I can keep this moving.

Journal Entry 26 by mothertoboys from Warwick, Rhode Island USA on Monday, August 7, 2006
I am finally getting to this book. I will pm onefinetabby for an address to send it to.

Not exactly an intense complicated plot, but it was quick and painless. A nice escape for a few hours. Cross series is still my favorite, but these fill in when I want a short bet read.
