Michael Moore is the thorn stuck on the American politicians foot, and that is a good thing.
Ok, his ways may not be correct and sometimes he is a bully but hey, he gets the word out there.
This small book, about 50 pages, contains two texts dealing with two different, but equally important, subjects: education, and all its flaws, in the US and the ever amazing president George W. Bush.
Even though the target of these texts is the american public, this is a very interesting read for people from all the other countries, we can see how it all went downhill with the US educational system and prevent it happening in our own countries.
Really worth the read no mater what you think of Michael Moore.

Would like to make it a BRay.
BRay rules:
- I think a month is time enough for you to read this book if you think you won't make it no problem, just let me know so I can post a little warning to the following BC'er, it's all a matter of courtesy;
- Please do not forget to make a JE when you get it and when you send it on to the next, that way we'll all know where the book is;
- There is no limit to people on this BRay, the more the merrier;
- I'll organize this by country so it won't be too pricey for anyone;
- The last person on the BRay is free to do with the book as he pleases, you might even want to help it continuing its journey.

Arrived yesterday!
kizmiaz, thanks for the opportunity.....

What can I say about this book?... Michael Moore is definitely a stone in America’s shoe. He may be rude in the things he does, but that’s probably the only way for him to get the people’s attention for the stupid things politicians are doing to his country.
In this book, he mostly focuses the problem of education in America; how the successive governments have mistreated this important part of society and now want to put the blame on teachers!

kizmiaz, thank for the opportunity of reading this small book!

Já chegou há uns dias e já tá pronto para partir.
Sinceramente esperava mais de michael moore mas de qualquer maneira é michael moore com exposições curiosas sobre o sistema de ensino americano por exemplo entre outras coisas. Rápido de ler.

I had already read some parts of this when i did some browsing through "Stupid White Men".
A Typical Moore book.
Thank you Kizmiaz.

Journal Entry 7 by begmartins on Monday, February 27, 2006
Yup, this was excerpted from "Stupid White Men".

I guess Moore's ramblings about education in America also apply to Portugal... and to just about anywhere else in today's world... Another example of globalization.

I guess it's just more from the same old M.Moore, a really nice essay but nothing new here.

Thanks to Escalla and Kizmiaz... I just sent a PM to yogie asking her address.

Good for me I haven't read Stupid White Men since it seems it's sort of the same book. Anyways, I'll bet I like it since I do agree with a lot that Michael Moore says. I'll probably become really upset as well. I hate injustice.
Thanks kizmiaz for arranging the bookring, and thanks begmartins for sending it.
I'll read it as soon as I've finished the book I'm currently reading.

This book was interesting, as all Michael Moore books are. I felt that the prayer in the end was a bit harsh, though. And I strongly want to believe that USA isn't as corrupted as he may want the readers to think. I think there are some injustices, and it's great he makes people aware of them.
This book didn't make me as angry as "Letters from a War zone" did, mainly because I felt he went a bit overboard sometimes. A good read though!

Sent off to Nitku 04/21/06 (Sorry for taking so long, I've been on holidays)
Thanks kizmiaz for letting me participate! :)

The book has arrived! Looks like a quick read. I'll try to read it on weekend.

It was a nice booklet to read, although it did seem a bit short (it is only a part of the larger book). I found it hilarious that Moore had quit college because he didn't find parking space. Sounds very Moore to me! Then the part about advertising in schools was quite shocking, even more so when I compare it to the culture here in Finland where advertisements are still kept far away from schools.

The book is on its way to Luintaurien!
