I think I got this by accident from my book club... good thing I like Anne Tyler!

The story of a whirlwind marriage of two Baltimore teens on the brink of WWII that moves forward decades at a jump. The stories within the stories are both funny and tragic and by the closure of the book, I gained a new appreciation for the characters entirely. Amazing that Anne Tyler never seems to lose heart and depth in her books!

I loved this book! It has become my favorite Anne Tyler novel. Sadly, I think the reason I enjoyed it so much is because it reminds me of my own marriage and ex-husband; the book is certainly true-to-life.

I'm going to put this on my reserved shelf for now; I have a friend who would probably want to read this.
