Found this whilst looking for books for my NSSFC partner. I enjoyed her Frankie and Stankie so I hope this is as good. According to the back of the book the story is about Jem and Alice who meet in school. The story traces the intermingling of their lives....a baroque romance of untimely deaths, orphan babes, stolen novels, canny nuns and dark, forceful lovers.
Who could resist?

I really enjoyed this book.
