A really clever novel with 5 completely different voices but one linked story. And a cool cover as well!

I enjoyed this book very, very much. I found it extremely touching, and had tears streaming down my cheeks when I read Clare's section - I could only think of my own sister and about the sorrow which permeates so much of the story. There are more ghosts here than the ghosts of the dead - there are the ghosts of disappointment, loneliness and loss, which are just as haunting. A very lovely book, and one that I think will stay in my mind for quite a while.

I'm afraid most of the book inspired nothing more than exasperation in me. I actually had to force my way through to see if anything happened. By the end it had conjured within me depression & a sense of pointlessness. I'm left with such a dark feeling that I really need something upbeat or uplifting to read now, but I'll probably end up with something bleak to match my mood. No, I did not like this little book, & it didn't like me.

Hmm...I also found this quite dark and depressing and struggled to get through it. I enjoyed the homeless woman storyline the most. Nice concept but I'm afraid it just didn't do it for me.
