Journal Entry 4 by redfloor from Amersfoort, Utrecht Netherlands on Thursday, February 9, 2006
I liked it to read the book, but for chicklit it's a bit too long. However I'd like to see the film soon. Sending it through to Mayti

Journal Entry 5 by Mayti from 't Harde, Gelderland Netherlands on Tuesday, February 14, 2006
Received the book today by mail. Thank you for sending, Redfloor!

Journal Entry 6 by Mayti from 't Harde, Gelderland Netherlands on Saturday, February 18, 2006
I really liked the book, though I have to admit I didn't finish it. It's too long for me, maybe I'll read it in Dutch some time. Thanks for ringing, Skunkie86 and I hope the other on the list enjoy reading this nice chicklit!

Sending it to whitehorsy next monday.

Journal Entry 7 by whitehorsy from Hasselt, Limburg / Limbourg Belgium on Monday, February 27, 2006
This book arrived at my parents house last week, I picked it up this weekend and started reading immediately. :-) It sure is a big book but I hope the story will be strong enough to keep me hooked.

Thanks for sending it along Mayti.

Journal Entry 8 by whitehorsy from Hasselt, Limburg / Limbourg Belgium on Friday, March 3, 2006
I just finished it on the train tonight. Eventhough it's a big book (521 pages) the story never became boring. And as I always say, a good book can never be too long. :-) I've really enjoyed it! I haven't seen the movie but as I read I could see my own movie version playing in my mind. I liked the characters, I found them lovable and real... even little Petunia. ;-)

Thanks for sharing Eilan86/Skunkie86! I've PM'ed Tammywith2kids in the beginning of the week and I'll send it along as soon as I get her address.

Update: Tammywith2kids asked to be skipped, have PM'ed aliciayoung and received her address. The book will be sent early next week.

March 6th: sent to aliciayoung by surface mail.

Journal Entry 9 by aliciayoung from Statesboro, Georgia USA on Tuesday, March 28, 2006
Received from whitehorsy. Added to the top of my TBR pile.

Journal Entry 10 by aliciayoung from Statesboro, Georgia USA on Thursday, April 6, 2006
Finished the book. It was pretty good...a little slow in some places. Anyway, I enjoyed reading it. Pm'd Ksreader for address and will send it on its way soon. Thanks for adding me to this bookring!

Journal Entry 11 by aliciayoung from Statesboro, Georgia USA on Monday, May 15, 2006
Received address from Ksreader. Sent this morning via USPS. Delivery Confimation # is: 420 66763 9102 8052 1390 7180 7094 53.

Journal Entry 12 by ksreader from Frontenac, Kansas USA on Wednesday, May 24, 2006
Received in the mail 5/24/06. The paperback swap packaging confused me at first until I saw the BCID. It is a pretty thick book, but maybe with the holiday weekend coming up, I'll have some extra time to relax and read.

Journal Entry 13 by ksreader from Frontenac, Kansas USA on Saturday, June 24, 2006
I apologize for keeping this one for a full month. I hate waiting on books to reach me too, so believe me, I'm feeling pretty guilty! Anyway, it has been mailed on to the next reader.

This was an incredibly long story. (First scene was completely unnecessary!)

Journal Entry 14 by MomsL8 from St. Louis, Missouri USA on Sunday, July 2, 2006
Arrived safely on Friday 6/30. I'm reading a book in front of this one and then I'll begin it when I go on vacation 7/7. I won't be able to send it on until I get back from vacation on 7/25. Look for it by August 1st at the very earliest, I would say - more like August 15th. Thanks!

Jill

Journal Entry 15 by Eilan86 on Friday, August 18, 2006
Mistery Mish has wild released the book because she well... she didn't take the ring seriously and messed up with the book. She'l buy a new copy and I hope it'll get to the other members soon.

Journal Entry 16 by MysteryMish from Santa Monica , California USA on Tuesday, August 22, 2006
This was an excellent book. I really liked the two characters of the sisters, and the story of the grandmother woven in. I always take rings seriously, and like any human sometimes make mistakes.

Journal Entry 17 by MomsL8 from St. Louis, Missouri USA on Wednesday, August 30, 2006
I do believe that MysteryMish is confused. I still have the original copy of this book, and HAVE NOT YET sent it on to Wyldanthem as I haven't even finished it.

I received a nasty pm from Eilan this morning accusing ME of skipping Wyldanthem. I believe if you read the journal entries, you will see that MysteryMish gave away a copy of the book, which I don't understand how, since I have the original registered copy. And then she replaced it and sent it on.

Here is the pm that Eilan sent me this morning, which hurt my feelings very much:

Hello MomsL8,
Can you explain me why I've got a PM from wyldanthem who doesn't know how
he/she has been skipped??? It's really surprising because I've made up some
RULES members of the ring can't skip someone without telling me!!!! I'm
sure a good bookcrosser would have respected it instead a bad bookcrosser
like you has done what she wanted hoping that wyldanthem would never
contact me. I want only seroius bookcrosser in my rings not bad people who
skip others at their wish. You can't even tell you have written any PM to
wyldanthem because he/she has never been contacted by you in any means.
It's really a horrible thing you have done!!! I hope you will make your
most sincere apologies to wildanthem and keep very far from my rings!!!!

I am a 40 something middle school Language Arts teacher, and I resent having this type of PM sent to me.

Wyldanthem - if you would like my copy of the book, which was sent by KSReader, whom I know and has sent me books, I will gladly send it to you. If you no longer wish to participate, I will send this book back to Eilan86.

I do not wish to spend my time as if I were in High School. I am a busy person, and I have much better things to do with my time.

Thank you -

Jill Proehl

Journal Entry 18 by MomsL8 from St. Louis, Missouri USA on Saturday, September 2, 2006
I have not heard from Vicki1970. MysteryMish - to whom did you send the book? I don't just want to begin asking everyone on the list and confusing it even more. Eilan86 - I don't wish to read this book during the school year as I read Adolescent Lit then to keep up with my kids. Although, I would venture to guess that perhaps my Challenge Language Arts students might pick this book, but the length is too daunting for most of mine.

So, I need to know where to send it. Please advise.

Jill

RELEASE NOTES:

I mailed this off air mail last Saturday. So you should be getting this shortly.

Journal Entry 20 by bc-del-20080226 on Sunday, October 15, 2006
Well what an interesting journal read here...I find it very childish to be introduced to a book with childish arguments.

That said...I did receive the book yesterday and I do have three other rings ahead of this one...I would have skipped the ring, but I didn't realize that mail was delivered so quickly, usually the mail takes a long time with Canada Post. So on one hand I am excited that Canada Post has worked out its kinks...on the other hand...I now have a ton of reading to do.

Also so you all know, my sister in law is in the process of getting a transplant, and I have to cover all her shifts and mine at work. I am reading as fast as I can and am averaging two weeks to a book instead of one week to a book. I am letting you all know so that no childish PMs will be sent my way calling me names etc.

I am doing the best I can with real life circumstances and virtual circumstances.

I just finished this book...boy was it long and I apologize for the lengthy time frame. So now to get this thing moving.

It was a long book and some parts could have been left out...but it was cute. I will rent the movie and see how it compares.

Finally got in touch with IWISHIWAS and sent the book off to her. I apologize for the length of time, family situations and job situations got in the way of finances and time...anyway, it is on its way now.

Journal Entry 25 by IWISHIWAS from Stockton-On-Tees, County Durham United Kingdom on Wednesday, April 4, 2007
Arrived safe and sound today, half way thru my current book so will make this my next read and keep it moving. Thanks for sending it summerbreeze.

Journal Entry 26 by IWISHIWAS from Stockton-On-Tees, County Durham United Kingdom on Thursday, April 12, 2007
When I signed up for this book I had not seen the movie. Now that I have, I can't really get into the book because I know what's coming. Shame, as I was looking forward to it! Will send it on to the next in line and keep working on Mt TBR!! (Marie-Therese has asked to be skipped)

Journal Entry 27 by IWISHIWAS from Stockton-On-Tees, County Durham United Kingdom on Monday, April 16, 2007
Mailing today to Blaisezabini12 in Romania, I don't think I have ever sent a book there before! Hope you enjoy it.

Journal Entry 28 by rem_DUV-129661 on Thursday, June 7, 2007
The book made it to my place and it looks great! Thank you so much for mailing this all the way:P Will post more comments after reading.

18 June 07: It has been some time since I have read a chick lit book as I was busy with other stuff this year and neglected my reading a lot:P
Maybe that's why I was so excited about this book and I have to say I enjoyed it a lot!
Rose was of course my favorite character and I am not sure I would have had as much patience with Maggie as she had.
I will pm the next bcer on the list. Thank you again for organising this!

Journal Entry 29 by LindyLouMac from Tywyn, Wales United Kingdom on Thursday, July 19, 2007
Picked this up from our mail box this morning, in a very sorry state. Package so torn I was surprised to find the book still intact!
I have seen and enjoyed the film, so will be interesting to see what I make of the novel. Thanks for including me in the ring Eilan86 and Blaisezabini12 for sending on to me.

Journal Entry 30 by LindyLouMac from Tywyn, Wales United Kingdom on Sunday, July 22, 2007

Well I cannot find any negative reviews for this title so it must be me, but I am about to give it one!
I am sorry to say that this is the first and last title that I will try by this author. I started it this afternoon and I just could not get on with her writing style, why I am just not sure? Maybe it was a big mistake to try and read this after seeing the film? Which incidentally I enjoyed!!

So although I cannot recommend this title I think maybe if you have not yet seen the film and enjoy ‘chick lit’ it might be Ok. Everyone else certainly seems to think so!
