Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
2 journalers for this copy...
I haven't caught the Harry Potter bug, but perhaps some day I'll get motivated to read this.
This was a quick easy read, and if I was 9 yrs old I might have found it fascinating. As it was, it was a children's book and I can't understand the hit it has become with adults. It really didn't seem particularly unique or special, just another book written for the 9 - 12 yr old age group.
If I read more of this series, it will be for a specific reason (such as a read/release challenge, etc) and not because I've caught the Harry Potter bug.
Because this book has been so widely challenged, I'm going to release it as part of the "Read and Release Banned Books in '06" challenge. Since it's a children's book, I'm also going to release it as part of the "2nd Annual Shirley's Friends Memorial Release" on 1/19.

RELEASED FOR THE 2ND ANNUAL SHIRLEY'S FRIENDS MEMORIAL RELEASE.
I was in Walgreens and found the book on a shelf. I was a little confused at first because I had never heard of anything like this, so I asked the cashier if it was really "free" and she said she knew nothing about it and called the manager. He said I could have it...after he tried to charge me for it, but it would not ring up. So I took it, read it, and now I am passing it on.
