THIS IS AN EROTICA FROM THE BLACK LACE LINE

Journal Entry 2 by mllelilac from Santa Clara, California USA on Sunday, December 15, 2002
It was a rather interesting novel, but I had a tough time getting through it because it deals with some things that I don't particularly care for, like the domination and masochism. Overall it was pretty interesting to read, and it was also the first erotica novel I've read. I'm sending it off to autumnmaple on nervousness tomorrow.

Got this today, what a steamy cover!

UPDATE 1-11-03 This is the 2nd book I've read in the Black Lace series (erotica written by women for women). It really bored me, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. It was just pure sex. I didn't care about the heroine - I don't even remember her name. The 'hero' Drummond isn't really a hero, and the villian Val is too weak. The only strong character was Val's evil mistress. Maybe my definition of Erotica is too high, but I need an interesting story line in my sex stories. The other Black Lace novel I read (Cooking up a Storm by Emma Holly) is decent, so if others are reading erotic fiction for the first time, that's a good one to start with.

I read the first chapter and just couldn't get into it........I felt like I was reading a really bad porno movie. I have read some Erotica before and this one did not interest me.

I am sending it on to the next person in a Nervousness bookcrossing ring.

I can't finish this book. It has no plot.

Pretty much what I expected. There is a lot of B&D (and S&M) depicted, so be warned.

The plot is really weak, but a some of the scenes are fairly well done. Valerian should have been much stronger, to match his "scheming but beautiful mistress." Drummond was hardly a character, there was no consistency to his actions. The book should have been another hundred pages longer to wrap up what plot there was. It seemed like the author got tired of writing the sex scenes and decided to have each and every character act out of character to wrap this dang thing up. If it hadn't ended so abruptly, I might have tried another book by this author.

Sending to the next on the nervousness.org Erotic Book Round Robin LMAO, #8589.
