After my son Jack was born in the July 2003 we discovered that he had Down syndrome. Not too long following that a neighbor of my mother-in-law passed this book on to her. I noticed in on a shelf at her home and sked to borrow it. After two painful years of avpoding a book about a topic too personal to approach, I finally read it. The story (memoir) recounts the author's experience as she discovers she is pregnant with a baby with Down syndrome and her feelings and experiences as she gets to know this new "person" in her life, Adam. I enjoyed hearing her experience and as a mother of a child with Down syndrome relate on many (but not all) levels. I am so curious to see how this reflection will be receoved by others. I look forward to hearing you thoughts about Expecting Adam.
