I enjoyed this book! Good summer read. The storyline involved family relationships, love relationships, enough angst to bring out the kleenex once or twice. Everyone will be able to relate to someone or some situation in the book. Patricia Gaffney's writing style is quite succinct - not too wordy but includes enough details and descriptions so the reader can picture the scene. If you enjoyed The Saving Graces, you'll enjoy this book...or you'll want to read it after this book.
I will be giving Flight Lessons to a friend to read while on vacation.

Good beach book! I enjoyed seeing the relationships unfold and evolve during the course of the novel. I, too, recommend Gaffney's "Saving Graces" in addition to this novel.
Since it makes an entertaining summer read, I decided to leave it at a swimming pool today. I left it at the Sac City, IA, swimming pool.

I'm a lifeguard at the aquatic center in my town. The book, Flight Lessons, ended up in our lost and found. I started reading portions of it over rest breaks, thinking that it was another lifeguard's. I didn't actually notice the label on the front until I was about half way through the book - many days later since I was reading in ten minute increments. Anyway, I took it home shortly before the swim season ended. It's been sitting on a shelf in my room for quite sometime, but I'm planning to release it at the Mall of America in Minneapolis tomorrow. I really enjoyed finding, reading, and now releasing the book. It was a great experience all around, and I'm excited to follow this book's journeys.
