The Jane Austen Book Club: A Novel
3 journalers for this copy...
Wonderful, wonderful little novel. Although I have to confess to not having read Jane Austen I'm intrigued and perhaps one day I'll pick one up and sit for a spell. Great cast of characters and a beautiful way of weaving the Austen novels into each of the book club members lives.

Releasing into my "Books I've Loved and Want To Share" women's bookbox. Happy travels little book!
This bookbox arrived today! I'm taking out this book.
I've never read a single book by Austen. I thought that might interfere with my enjoyment of this book. Maybe it did. I was very happy to see that the author included a brief synopsis of each book they discussed. Of course that would have been more helpful if I hadn't been so bored by the Austen discussions that I skimmed over them. :)
I enjoyed learning more about each book club member and their different lifestyles. I liked the writing style a lot and would probably enjoy reading another book by this author.
Here are some passages from this book that I especially enjoyed:
But by then every word he said was an irritation to her, and he did insist on continuing to talk. --page 35. (I think we've all been there!)
No one with real integrity tries to sell their integrity to you. People with real integrity hardly notice they have it. --page 185.
Thanks for sharing this book. I'm next in line for a women's bookbox. I plan on including this in that box.
