studied at university and therefore did not get the full benefit from this lovely book, as it was viewed as 'study material'... Available to fans of womens fiction, feminist writers, modern fiction, fantasy-writing etc.

Hi GinsterSwansea,

Thank you sooooo much for the book-swap! wow its in such amazing condition! I recieved it this morning and dedicated the day - though this was hardly difficult - to imersing myself in Anglea Carters visionary world. I imensley enjoyed 'The Magic Toyshop' for all its magical imagery and atmosphere. I'm really looking forward to seeing what the Lectures/Critical Readings will read into/out of this novel :)

hope the 'the restaurant at the end of the universe' arrives safely... enjoy...

oh myself and Lottiotta are setting up regular book-crossing meetings at the OBZ at the Retreat Cafe, every 1st Thursday of the month 6.30 onwards begining February, hope you can make it!

bright blessings, al3xa

ps. thank you for the book-crossing book-mark :)

... had the seminar of 'The Magic Toyshop' today... inspite of me being my usual shy/reluctant to participate in grrr/oup (hehe translating as grrr@groups :)-bad-puns are the first sign of madness dont ya know hehe :)) discussion self i enjoyed it... am severly anoyed with self for lying... as after general constent amongst the grrr/oup that they found the magical-realism challenging/difficult to read/understand i found myself, when directly questioned, telling the lecturer that i too found it 'not-easy'... when infact the magical realism made it far more accessible for me personaly as my mind works symbolicaly rather than linguistically etc. and thus thrives happily in such a symbolically potent text... lying simply as not to expose myself, avoid further questions, and most of all because i did not want to make others feel stupid or that i was sat around silently 'knowing it all'... grrr am so ficle *kick* :)

... sorry... for un/necessary rant...
