Once again Anne Tyler presents us with a tale of dysfunctional relationships and psychologically-challenged characters. The principal in this case is Jeremy, an agoraphobic artist who is left to deal with the real world on his own when his mother passes. Tyler is an incredibly talented writer, and she forces us into the very minds of her subjects, nearly to the point of discomfort. I must admit that this is not my favorite Tyler effort.
