EDITED 6TH JULY: i really enjoyed this book, even though i wasnt sure i would. i thought i'd sussed out who the murderer was within the first 30 pages, so was slightly annoyed, but very pleased to discover i was wrong (although i did figure out why they were doing it and where the information was coming from long before the detective!).

i'm not really sure how to categorise this book. it's a mystery/thriller for sure. but it's also written in typical ben elton ironic and slightly mocking light hearted comedy style. it's partly a romance too - which makes it all the stranger because the book contains one of the most nauseatingly sick sex scenes i've read, and it springs at you out of nowhere, so in that respect it's sick shit too.

but despite the odd mixture of styles, it was a good read.
