well I still haven't read the New York trilogy I bought a few weeks ago, but I'll never pass up a bargain...
It says on the back cover that this is a good introduction to Auster, so I must have chosen judiciously.
A quick read, flows well despite the strange construction of a story within a story within a story sometimes reaching a dead end, and sometimes surreal, as well as lengthy footnotes meandering along other pathways; somewhere the narrator describes a woman as being the kind who could turn a man inside out, well this novel sometimes turns the reader inside out.

fulfilling a wish on a list!
Sent to me as a RABCK by the very lovely, kind and generous silentmiaouw in St Legier :-) Thanks also for the bookcrossing postcard! This will take pride of place in my PC, but will be open for loans. I love Paul Auster, but only discovered him when I joined bookcrossing. Strange, huh?
