Dark Delicacies : Original Tales of Terror and the Macabre
1 journaler for this copy...
An anthology of horror stories, featuring tales by Ray Bradbury, Clive Barker, Nancy Holder, Richard Matheson, Whitley Strieber, Gahan Wilson and many others. The book was edited by Del Howison, owner of the horror bookstore, Dark Delicacies, after which the book was named. The store hosted a book signing, and this copy has been signed by many of the tales' authors, including Ray Bradbury and Richard Matheson. Clive Barker will be returning to the shop soon for another signing, and I'll get him to sign this one, as well.
I read this book at the beginning of 2006 but forgot to make a journal entry.
I picked this up, not knowing exactly what to expect, and was quite pleased. There are some phenomenal tales in this anthology of horror. I enjoyed the vast majority of the 20 short stories, with only one or two that were just okay. My fave was "Haeckel's Tale" by Clive Barker. It is well worth your time to grab this book, dim the lights, pull up the covers and dive into this collection of Dark Delicacies.
