In CSI: Sin City, Grissom, Nick, Warrick and Brass, investigate the disappearance of Lynn Pierce who’s husband threatened to kill her while Catherine, Sara and Detective Conroy look into the death of a stripper, Jenna Patrick. Each team must collect the evidence, interview suspects/witnesses and determine who the culprit is. When they are through, they will “reveal the secret lives lived in the seediest and saintliest sides of Sin City”.
As with other CSI “novels” that I’ve read, this one reads just like a TV episode. In fact, I liked it better than the TV series. I’ve never been a fan of the camera zooming into body cavities or in close on experiments. I don’t find it gross, just unnecessary. The story is fast paced and a real page-turner without the annoying commercials. Collins’ writing is easy to read, which makes this book enjoyable. I really liked this one.
There was one thing that I found funny/strange/unbelievable about the story. The boss or bartender at the strip club mentions that Sara could make some money at the club. That is, she could become a stripper. While Sara (Jorja Fox from the TV series) is a beautiful woman, I just can’t picture her as a stripper. Before I stick my foot into my mouth any further, I’ll refrain from explaining what I mean.
Highly recommended for fans of the show.
I have at least one more CSI book. I'm looking forward to reading it. In the meantime, I’ll be looking for more.
