Detective Harry Bosch gets assigned to investigate a death that turns out to be of a fellow 'Tunnel rat' from Vietnam. Harry is one of those detectives that just doesn't fit the mold. He follows the case and it certainly leads him in a variety of ways. The twist at the end I saw a mile away. A great book!
I started reading this on the train this morning.
This was an average mystery novel. I liked Bosch as a character, but couldn't stand Wish. The whole love affair was way too cliche for me. When is a book going to be written where a male and female can be partners and be friends, but not lovers! Honestly!
The bank heist was neat to read about. This wasn't the most suspenseful book in the world, but it was ok.

EDITED 28TH NOVEMBER: A quick easy read, not too taxing, and like a previous review said, the bank heist was a very clever idea. Although I like Harry as a character, I suspect if he were a real detective he would have been fired or demoted long ago, and his unorthodox methods would almost certainly mean all his arrests were let off on technicalities. However, suspending disbelief, the novels are always fun.
