I took this with me yesterday to the doctor's and read it while I was waiting, which was a good thing I did, as I ended up having to wait 20 minutes! Unfortunately, I couldn't make it past the 100-page mark as I found this quite boring and I wasn't enticed to read further at all. Tolkien may be a master storyteller but he just doesn't seem to be for me. I think I will just stick to the movie versions from now on. Thanks though, amberc, for giving me the opportunity to read this, it's now heading off to another bookcrosser in America.
