I've read this book quite a lot of times when I was young, it's still one of my favourites. It's the story of Bilbo Baggins that takes place before the events in The Lord of The Rings.

Tolkien is a wonderful writer, full of invention and expression. I'm sure any child who happens upon this book will enjoy it.
