Classic detective mystery. Many people are familiar with the old Bogart movie. Leaving at the Cameron Village BookCrossings drop at Talbots.

Argh! I'm trying to release more books, not collect them! But when I dropped off two books in the crossing zone box I saw this one there and it was just too tempting. I've never read Chandler, but I love the noir genre. Please forgive me if this goes unread for awhile - new semester just started. I will read and release when I am finished.

Wow! Pretty racy for 1939! I expected the plot to be predictable - I was wrong. This was a fast read, but it kept my attention through the end. I love the language. Now I have to see the film.

I will bring this to the meetup on Tuesday.
