Definitely a good read. I actually appreciated his simplistic style of writing after reading White Oleander (which had a simile or metaphor every paragraph!)
This gives you Bukowski childhood. It's not pretty, and who he is at the end is not pretty either. At less than 300 pages, it's a good book to fill up a rainy day.
