This is a great novel about the days when homo sapiens and neanderthals both existed. What follows is a fantastic tale about a little homo sapien girl, Ayla, and her life when she become part of a neanderthal clan. There's always the pain of being different, and she must learn to live in the social confines of the Clan. It's really a tremendous book, and the author has clearly done her research on how humans and neanderthals could have existed and lived. Read it.

I'm going to leave this somewhere at the Kerrytown Bookfest (taking place in the farmer's market area). It seemed only appropriate to bring a book to release!

I found it lying on the ground next to a little tree. I plan to read it and then release it again.
