I was halfway through The Travelling Hornplayer when I rushed out to buy this one! Both books are fantastic and the characters believable, sharp and addictive.
As a teen, like Alice, I would have been OBSESSED with Jem and even as an adult, am completely drawn in by her naughtiness and pretentiousness!
I will no doubt buy her entire collection now and would recommend this to anyone who loves to get completely lost in fiction.
