The Book follows the journey of a man who passes away and what the author views the afterlife to contain. It doesnt hit on religion or anything just the journey of reviewing your life and the consequences which that brings. The story itself isnt to deep although is interesting at times. however some of the people he meets you would expect but its the ones you dont expect which makes it a good read.

What a beautiful book! I finished it in 1 day and meanwhile read it again a bit more slowly.
Alboms version of heaven is quite different to, for instance, that of Alice Seibold in “The Lovely Bones”. It is interesting for me to read what other people imagine life after death to be like. Of course, nobody can say who is right, but I think, everybody can choose their own favourite belief.
Mine isn’t exactly like either Alboms or Seibolds, but it is certainly an interesting read.
Thanks a lot for sending me this book, Sterile!

Thanx a lot for sending, and I try to read the exchange-book as soon as I can.

My Review: Jan 2006

I also read the book in only one day. It is really not long and ends much too soon.
But not only was it rather short, it was also very well written, so that you could turn page after page. But a question was left unanswered: after you met your 5 people and then eventually be one of 5 for someone else and your task is fulfilled ... what happens then? I'm also of the opinion, that the lesson one learns after death come a little too late. One should learn them while still alive. Maybe that was one reason for Albom to write that book and teach us something.

Book now reserved for our next ladies night, which has the topic: title with mathematical terms in it.

Since several of our ladies were interested in this book, we decided to make a bookray out of it. (By now I got my own copy of it).

I enjoyed this book, which was quick to read. I agree with another reader that the lessons learnt (mainly not being so angry) would have been better learnt before death.

I am pondering if the blue man and Eddie meet after Eddie finishes seeing his five people, as they both pick the same spot as their 'heaven'
