FBI Agent Pierce Quincy is haunted by his daughter's death in a drunk-driving accident. Pierce knew about his daughter's problem with alcohol, and about her loneliness. And so, he is sure, did the man who killed her. Rainie Conner is an ex-cop with a past overshadowed by violence. She was once involved with Pierce in a harrowing case that brought them together personally and professionally. Then, he came to her rescue. Now it is time for her to help him. This killer is different. He has an insatiable hunger for revenge - and for fear. He isn't satisfied with taking his victims' lives - he wants to get inside their minds and strip them of every defence. And his target is Quincy's surviving daughter. Rainie believes that the only way to stop him is to put herself directly into the killer's murderous path and herself become - the next accident.

Releasing into the womens interest box

Journal Entry 3 by blum from Slough, Berkshire United Kingdom on Monday, September 5, 2005
Taken from Jacinta200's Women's Interest/Humour Bookbox.

Fast paced, gripping story-line. Excellent read, and they all live happily ever after at the end too( well, till the next time probably!!) What more could you want?!

Oooh, what a rarity!! I'm sending this book on to another bookcrosser!! I rarely do that as I like to release books with a bit of history( ie. not just one journal entry and that's mine) but this is a worthwhile trade so, Rahar, enjoy!!

Received in the post this morning, thank you!

A thriller that keeps you hooked, spoilt only by a plot twist near the end that is too silly and unbelievable. A shame, because it left me feeling let down, and cost the book a star.

Taken to the Basingstoke meet-up tonight.

Journal Entry 7 by katie1980 from Basingstoke, Hampshire United Kingdom on Wednesday, April 18, 2007
Aaarggh! I wasn't going to pick up any books this time! You are all evil book-pushers and I love you really, but aaarrrgh!!! *lol*

Thanks for coming to the meet last night - I had a great time and hope you did too :o) Hopefully we'll see you again next month.

I feel that I either have this book already, or have read it before. Still, I couldn't resist picking it up at the meet and so if I already have it I will be good and release this somewhere else!

Journal Entry 8 by katie1980 from Basingstoke, Hampshire United Kingdom on Wednesday, January 7, 2009
On a search of my shelf for this book, I find that I *do* already have it. And that it's taken me 2 years to get to it :oS
Still, I'm taking it with me to Dublin for our short break, so hopefully I'll read and release it there. Apologies for the time lag - I do partly have the excuse that I was in Malaysia for a year, and thus parted from the mountain that is my TBR pile, but that doesn't account for the previous year! Sorry :o)

Journal Entry 9 by katie1980 from Basingstoke, Hampshire United Kingdom on Thursday, January 22, 2009
This is a great book. I have read other books with Quincey and Rainie in them, and it was fab to read some of their "back story" for those stories! The story is strong, the suspense is gripping, and I didn't know who it was until right near the end. I liked that the team were in the dark, and working on instinct and adrenaline, as it added to the excitement, but I'm glad this isn't always how they work. It was better reading this book knowing that this wasn't their usual "modus operandi".
I'll take this to the Cherry Tree meet next weekend! Hopefully it will find another appreciative reader. (I did take this to Dublin, by the way, but didn't manage to finish it before we got home!)
