I just loved this book, thought it started well with the decriptions of the zoo and the animals, it lost momentum slightly until the disaster and then picked up again (trying not to give too much of the story away). The training/domination of Richard Parker is tense and fascinating, as were the methods of survival. The ending is both funny and deeply moving.

I found it at Varndean School in Brighton. A most remarkable book, by turns amazing, heartbreaking and laugh-out-loud funny. When you find it, please do read it, you will love it.
