I've heard nothing but amazing things about this book so I figured I'd pick up a copy. I'll add it to my gigantic "to be read" pile.

This book was amazing - it was haunting, but in a good way. I can't even describe how I feel after reading it - it has moved me in a way a book hasn't for a long, long time. It was truly different than anything I've ever read before, but I was captivated.

I found the ending a bit off, but it didn't detract from the rest of the book too much. I guess I would have prefered to see it resolved in a different way. 'Nuff said.

The creativity of Alice Sebold to come up with this story astounds me. I'd highly recommend this book.

2/25/03 - Seeing as my TBR pile is looming large, I have leant this out to "edsgirl" to read. (Hopefully) when she is finished, she will pass it back to me and I will read and release it then :)

Because this was such a talked-about book, I was anxious to love it. I did really enjoy the first 3/4 of the story but the ending was a total disappointment; not at all uplifting and it seemed to collapse toward the end. Character development good, but did I really care for these people? I am giving this to my daughter to read.
