This Book is Currently in the Wild!
7 journalers for this copy...
One of the funniest books ever written. And a double copy on my shelves!
Popped in the post to sarahbear!
Sarahbear, if you want to scrounge up some more people and make this into a ray, please do! I really don't mind, I'm just glad it's heading to a new reader at the moment.

Well I've finished this book. I am really glad I did because its one of those books I felt like I was missing out on something by not reading it. It isn't my style of story at all and still an experiencec worth participating in.
Posting out to cackleberry early this week.
Thank you for sharing this with me TQD.

Seconds before the Earth is demolished to make way for a galactic freeway, Arthur Dent is plucked off the planet by his friend Ford Prefect, a researcher for the revised edition of "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" who, for the last fifteen years, has been posing as an out-of-work actor.
Together this dynamic pair begin a journey through space aided by quotes from the Guide ("A towel is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have") and a galaxy-full of fellow travelers: Zaphod Beeblebrox: the two-headed, three-armed ex-hippie and totally out-to-lunch president of the galaxy; Trillian, Zaphod's girlfriend (formally Tricia McMillan, whom Arthur tried to pick up at a cocktail party once upon a time zone); Marvin, a paranoid, brilliant, and chronically depressed robot; Veet Voojagig, a former graduate student who is obsessed with the disappearance of all the ballpoint pens he bought over the years.
Where are these pens? Why are we born? Why do we die? Why do we spend so much time looking at digital watches?
For all the answers, enter within :)
And don't forget to bring a towel!
I heard the radio series; I watched the TV series; I've seen the movie, and now...
I'VE READ THE BOOK!
Loved it... but then, I was raised on "The Goon Show" :)
The movie still shows Marvin, Zaphod, Ford Prefect and Arthur Dent (note that Arthur has his towel).

Cool! Received this in the mail today from Cackleberry. I'm going to try and slip this in between some of the longer books that are sitting on my shelf at the moment.
Not really mind kind of thing. But like Sarahbear I'm glad I've read it so I can at least understand what others are talking about. Thanks for the opportunity.
I liked it. Have heard so many quotes from it over the years. I finally know the meaning of "So long and thanks for all the fish" and that the answer to that question - 42 (but what's the question?)
Thanks Sarahbear and tqd - and sorry I had it for so long - it got lost in my TBRs when Life Happened.
Posted to Binkatron yesterday.

Posted to Sugaryfun today.
It arrived safely in the mail today, which was particularly good timing as it's my birthday :) Actually, it was one of two bookring/ray books to arrive today. I really must stop signing up for so many of these things, but it's so addictive!
I'll journal again once I'm finished it.

It had been years since the first time I read this book, and I'd forgotten how much I loved it. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to read it again.
Douglas Adams' language is brilliant. I love lines like "the ships hung in the sky in much the same way that bricks don't", or 'almost, but not quite, entirely unlike tea'.
I'll wild release it soon, once I think of a good spot to leave it.
