Dear Reader:

When Rohan and Susannah team up, they find themselves on the trail of a legendary treasure somehow connected to MacBeth, eleventh-century king of Scotland--a fantastic legacy of ancient good and evil.

There are also cats to be trained for the races, limericks to be sung to the horses, a murder to be solved, a vicar with more secrets than a wizard's wand, and a man and a woman who are linked by magic as old as time....

The story has too many twists and turns to satisfy me. It is very doubtful that the main character is truly what is described. This twist wasn't needed in my eyes. As usual the reader can see ahead what is going to happen so the suspense is very low. The story itself seemed very structured. The whole thing about this treasure was just too much. Why did it have to be something so important to world history. A normal treasure would've served the story alright.

Not bad, but not a book to take really seriously. Well, I've read worse from Catherine Coulter.
I rather liked the concept of the lady protesting against being ruined. It drew me in. And doesn't sound Carrington like the cliché nonpareil?
But the mystics at the end were really unneccesary. Rather out of place, because the rest of the story is everything else but mystic.
