I could have sworn I posted a review of this one! At any rate, I am still not sure if I really like this book or not. I loved Coupland's command of language but the message of the story seemed to be, "Do whatever you want to and your family will still be there for you when you take a pause in being an idiot." Perhaps it's because I could not relate to the main character at all. While I enjoyed the breezy style and the great descriptions I didn't care for the story line.

I am really sorry, I just found this book and thought I had already journalled it and sent it on. Sorry for the hold up! Here is my review:

As with other Coupland books I loved his writing but was disappointed with the ending of the story. My favourite line from the story; "Another day in San Francisco and wooden houses painted the colour of children's thoughts." Beautiful imagery.
Aside from that, it started out well and I thought it was going to be a good story but he let it down with a naff ending where I was left feeling rushed ad wanting to know more. I really think this author has trouble ending his books and looks for the easiest way out everytime.

A great read, and I am grateful for the chance to read it, just a shame Coupland can't end his books properly.

I will get this on it's way as soon as I can.
