don't know why i bought this yesterday. i was holding a biography book that took me 1/2 hour to pick but then at the last minute this caught my eyes. i read the back cover and it was oh so appealing to me! i put back the bio and walk straight to the counter and paid for it.

got back home and got into it. i saw the author's photo inside, she looks so young and beutiful. and today i found out that she's the irish prime minister's daughter! ok never mind that. i have to tell you i've read the first few chapters last night and i can expect lots of chuckles and tears coming my way. can't wait to get back home today.

"High shcool sweethearts Holly and Gerry were the kind of married couple that could finish each other's sentences, and even when they fought they laughed. Holly didn't know where she'd be without Gerry. No one did. And that's how "The List" started.... as a joke. If anything were to happen to Gerry, he'd have to leave Holly a list of things she must do in order to make it through the day in one piece. Then at the age of 30, Holly experiences the unimaginable. Gerry is diagnosed with a terminal illness.

Surrounded by friends with razor-sharp wits and raucously endearing family that smothers, loves nad drives her crazy, Holly wobbles, weaves, weeps, and jokes her way toward a new life. From a fresh new voice in fiction, Ps, I Love you is a tender, funny, unexpectedly romantic novel that readers will treasure in their hearts and minds long after closing the pages "

finished it!

i was touched a number of times reading this one. chuckles department, bridget jones is better i think but i enjoyed it all the same. i can't help wondering if this ever happened to me then how would i feel? having letters addressed to you for 10 months, it'd make me kinda feel the person haven't really gone yet.

i'm glad that i picked this book. it taught me how to look at life at a different perspective. and it shows that true love lives forever.

i love it! so a bookrelay yet again is in order. hopping on to forum....

Seasoned bookcrosser should already know the bookray rules but since not everyone's quiet familiar with a bookray yet, I'm just going to list a few:
1. Journal the book when you receive the book.
2. When you finish the book, pm the next person after you for his/her address. If the person for some reason ask to be skipped, or is unreachable, pm the next person after him/her instead - and please journal it so everyone knows what's happening to the book.
3. When you mail it, journal it again. This helps to track the book's whereabout.
4. Please don't take more than 4 weeks having the book with you if possible. Consider the people after you who's eagerly waiting to read the book too. =)
5. Unlike bookring, the last person on the list may do whatever he/she wishes - keep it, release it, start another bookray/ring, trade it, etc.
6. Happy reading!

Journal Entry 4 by Risa29 from Käerjeng, Kanton Capellen Luxembourg on Tuesday, September 13, 2005
Uff, the book finally arrived. I already feared it might have got lost somewhere on its way around the world.
As I just finished my previous book yesterday evening I will start reading "PS, I love you" immediatelly.

Journal Entry 5 by Risa29 from Käerjeng, Kanton Capellen Luxembourg on Friday, September 16, 2005
As I had much time to read during the last few days I have already finished "PS, I love you".
The book is easy to read though I found it not easy to digest emotionally. It made me cry several times. The main character Holly is just my age and like her I would probalby have a complete emotional breakdown when my beloved husband would die. So I understood all her distress.
This book made me appreciate (even more than I did thus far) the enormous luck I have in being married to my husband and having him near me every day. It makes me treasure every moment we have together.

As a resumé I'd say it's a good book but I wouldn't reread it as it makes me too sad.

The book will be on its way to greeneyemoony by the end of the day.

Will travel on tomorrow.

Picked up today from the post office. Thank you greeneyemoony for mailing the book to Romania and thank you ann-718my for organising the ray:)

24 October 05: finished reading this weekend. For me the most impressing was the support which Holly had from her friends and family. I also enjoyed the ending (it was not that predictable:)).
Some parts of the book were so funny that I kept reading them aloud to my brother.

After reading this book I had to add on my wishlist the 2nd book of Cecelia Ahern - thank you greeneyemoony for giving me the opportunity to discover a new author I like.
I have the address of the next person on the list and I am going to mail this book this week.

31 October 05: finally managed to mail the book!

Journal Entry 10 by whitehorsy from Hasselt, Limburg / Limbourg Belgium on Monday, November 14, 2005
I found the book when I came home last Friday, thanks blaisezabini12 for sending it along. I must admit that I've been neglecting the order of my bookrays/rings because this book was with me on the train when I was going back to Leuven... so I just started reading it when the other book that I had with me was finished. I'm on page 88 and I can already say that I love the book, the story, the characters... :-)

Journal Entry 11 by whitehorsy from Hasselt, Limburg / Limbourg Belgium on Friday, November 18, 2005
This book has been my faithful companion on the train to and from work this week and I've just finished it this evening at home... this is one of those books I don't want to say goodbye to, well at least not to the characters in it. I loved this story, I loved following Holly on her emotional rollercoaster... it was sometimes sad, it was sometimes fun and it was sometimes hilarious... but never ever boring.

Thanks ann-718my for sharing this book, I'm very glad to have read it and I have enjoyed myself very much. :-)

I've already got the address of oliveoyle and I'll be sending the book out tomorrow or next Monday.

Journal Entry 12 by oliveoyle from Sheffield, South Yorkshire United Kingdom on Tuesday, November 29, 2005

Journal Entry 13 by oliveoyle from Sheffield, South Yorkshire United Kingdom on Friday, December 2, 2005
Finished! What a gorgeous book! I really enjoyed this one and although it was sad, I felt there was a lot of hope in it. Lovely characters and very nicely written. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to read this, ann-718my. It's one I might have to buy to keep and I'll definitely be looking out for other books by the author. Thanks again!

Journal Entry 17 by boomda181 on Friday, March 17, 2006
WOW! I just finished reading the book, I simply could not put it down. I loved the characters, their reactions and emotions seemed so real to me. I could never pretend to understand what Holly was going through dealing with the loss of her husband, but it sure gave me an appreciation. Sometimes I could predict what was going to happen next, but there were also times that kept me guessing. Thank you so much for the opportunity to read this book, I truly enjoyed it.

Journal Entry 18 by snowy652 from Abbotsford, British Columbia Canada on Friday, May 5, 2006
arrived safe and sound -- will comment on it once I have read it and then pass it on to the next person in line for it.

May 9 ~ ~ I just finished this one and I loved it. I usually am not a big fan of chick-lit but this is a true exception. I found the story believable and very engaging. It was one of the better books that I have read this year and am now looking for "Where Rainbows End" by this author. Thank you so much for including me in this bookray. I have pm'd booknhand and will send it out as soon as I get an address.

This book came in the mail today - with a pleasant RABCK surprise included - thanks Snowy!!!!!

I am in the middle of a book now, have one bookring that came before this one and then I will be able to tackle this one - probably not until after memorial day week-end.

I will try not to keep it more than the 4 week request.

Thanks for sharing.

Journal update :)

Started this book last week and am half way through it - I really like it.

Being used to American words and spelling, it is amusing to see things said or spelled from an Ireland author.

I am already planning on getting her next book - ONCE I get through the bookrings I have right now (this one and one more).

Will post another journal entry when I am finished :)

Journal Entry 22 by booknhand from San Jose, California USA on Saturday, June 24, 2006
Finished this book back on June 18 and requested next person's address, buat haven't had the time to journal my thoughts.

I really like this book. Besides it being a great love story, it is really a life story.

I like the way Gerry anticipated what Holly's needs would be once he passed on.

At times I felt Holly held on to Gerry's "presence" a bit long and found myself saying, "just get on with it already"...BUT...the message here was that each person takes a differnt road and amount of time to mourn a loss.

I can only hope to find a spouse as creative, loving and devoted to me as Gerry was to Holly!!!

Great book and I will be hunting down this author's next book.

I have now PMed the next person twice and posted in the forum - If I do not hear back soon, I will PM teh person after that - this book WILL be oving in the next few days!!!!

Thanks so much for including me :)

Got this one today and am so excited to see how well traveled it is! Thanks so much to everyone who's gotten it this far, I'm just finishing up another book and will have this one started by the weekend. I've read everyone's reviews and can't wait to read this, especially since I'm on a break from graduate school for a few weeks and am so glad to be able to do some pleasure reading!

Journal Entry 25 by your-book-fairy from South Orange, New Jersey USA on Monday, August 21, 2006
Well, it's after midnight here on the east coast of the US and I don't remember the last time I read a book so fast. I am one tired lady since I've been staying up well past my bedtime, unable to put it down, but it was so worth it! For the past few weeks I've been wishing I had a book that I could really get into, where I'd actually have moments during the day when I would think about the character or look forward to getting back to the book later that evening, and this was finally it. I agree with so many of the previous reviews... sometimes predictable but not always, so easy to get attached to some of the characters even if you were frustrated by them (I also had those "oh just move on!" moments with Holly where I felt she was just plain wallowing in it), sometimes laugh out loud funny, and overall really well written. I also liked that while the book had an emotional angle, it wasn't as sappy or full of angels as I initially feared.

Well, it's high time I started catching up on my sleep. I'll PM sydney2259 in the morning and try to get this book back on the road by week's end. Thanks again to everyone who's gotten the book this far, I'm really so glad it made its way to me.

Journal Entry 26 by sydney2259 on Monday, October 16, 2006
This book arrived safely this morning, and is now next to be read. I will be starting it tonight and am really looking forward to it. Thanks for sharing :)

Journal Entry 27 by sydney2259 on Sunday, October 22, 2006
