When the elderly curator of the Louvre has been found murdered, Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon is summoned. A baffling ciper has been found near the body and Langdon and gifted French cryptologist Sophie Neveu have to sort through the bizarre riddles where they discover a trail of clues hidden in the works of Da Vinci.
Came in today's mail. Very nice-looking book!
My son, Mascis, is reading it and as soon as he's done (he's a fast reader like I used to be when I was a teen) I'll mail it to Twixxy in Newport News.
Thanks ever so much!

Mascis gives this book a "10" and he asked me a lot of questions about it that I couldn't answer. I guess I'll need to read it when Twixxy's done so I can explain things to him.
(Being read by Twixxy now.)

Twixxy "burned the barn" to get this read before the movie opened last month. Now I'm reading it and loving it. The descriptions are a lot better than the scenes in the movie! Makes me want to visit Paris and the Louvre.
I wish I had gone ahead and read this earlier -- there would have been more people to discuss it with! I enjoyed the clues and all the travels.
Spoiler alert: I liked two sections of the book better than corresponding sections of the motion picture: Silas taking Bishop Aringarosa to the hospital in his arms, and his subsequent slow, repentant death in the garden; and Sophie's discovery of her brother and grandmother!
Mailed to Missouri bookcrosser on 6/16/06!

Thanks so much for sharing! I will be passing this on temporarily to my DH, who doesn't bookcross, but I will cross the book when he finishes. I'll paste a link to my JE on another BCID of what I thought of the book later.
