Until the Real Thing Comes Along
2 journalers for this copy...
Was left on the shelf of the Christchurch OBCZ by someone who obviously understands the concept at the heart of bookcrossing, because written inside the front cover is the instruction "Read, enjoy, and pass on". No BCID, though, and a search on Bookcrossing for this title doesn't show up any copies released in New Zealand, so I brought it home to register.
An ok story, but one I just couldn't relate to at all, having never had the faintest glimmerings of a wish to do the whole get married, have children thing. Fine for a light read, though.
Given to another bookcrosser at tonight's meetup.
Wonderful review, Futurecat. Funny how I never had the "faintest glimmerings" either but they (marriage, children) happened anyway. I do like a light read for escapism so I'm sure I'll enjoy it.
Good story, in a Will and Grace kind of way.
