The novel is the auto-biography of Bukowski, the book cought my eye because is not the kind of novel where the autor has to write in a formal way, with not bad words and words that one can't understand, the story is about a teenager who is disemployeed and is always trying to get by, he spends his life traveling from city to city searching for new jobs, all of this takes place in the WWII in USA. It tells you about a very selfish young man who wishes a better life but always lives stuck in povetry, in dirty-nasty places, he's a drunk and always pretends to be some one else to get a job, he's a sexual-maniatic, he's really sick, and the only thing he enjoys doing is writting.
Es la historia del autor quien fuera un joven alcohólico, desempleado, que tiene serios problemas de autoridad, se la pasa viajando de ciudad en ciudad, no tiene amistades pues las considera un estorbo para conseguir el éxito, es muy egoísta y sobervio, vive estancado en la miseria y a cada lugar que llega solo dura muy pocos días antes de seguir mudándose.
