From the back:
Jane Hudson never thought she would return to Heart Lake. Her years there as a scholarship girl ended in a double tragedy. Now she is back, struggling to adjust to her new life teaching Latin and as a single mother. But the events that haunted her memories for so many years begin to recur in front of her eyes. It seems she alone can see what is happening, and only she will be able to prevent a second catastrophe. . .
Surrounded by the lake that gives the school its name, steeped in history and overflowing with the emotions of teenage girls, Heart Lake guards its past - but cannot keep it hidden.
The thing I liked best about this novel is the atmosphere created around the dark lake and the humble boarding school. The frozen lake, creaking and shrieking in the night, with its deadly secrets surfacing from the past, the overheated school building, the storms, tons of snow everywhere, myths and legends that make the teenage girls even more nervous when night comes falling . . .
Though it is lenghty at times (especially in the middle part) and the outcome is predictable, I had a good time reading this novel.
Have fun and some creepy moments!

Von der Ladies Night.
Got kinda convinced to take this. :-)

Edit: April 2013
After the first couple of pages I wasn't sure if I wanted to read on. But I'm glad I did because it turned out to be quite a 'nice' thriller. You could figure out the individual twists and turns the storyline took a bit in advance, but that didn't weaken the pleasure of reading. Instead you were just wondering when the protagonist will finally get the hang of it.
I also found it quite good how the author incorporated the lake so that it really became a major character in the book.
