The book arrived safely today. I will contact phenomenal1 for her address, and will read and send this off to her shortly.
7/8/05:
This book was light and fast-paced, with a delightful British flare. I read it in two sittings. It was very interesting how the author switched between first person perspectives and third person narratives in the middle of the scenes.
I certainly related very well to Jemima's weight and body-image issues, and how socially uncomfortable she felt until she lost the weight. I had hoped her story might inspire me to do the same, but I am allergic to exercise! lol
I knew something was fishy about her internet lover Brad but couldn't pinpoint what it was - I guessed incorrectly that he was hiding from her that he was gay or bisexual. Uncovering his secret was a big surprise, and I loved the unexpected plot twist that lead to a happy ending for Jemima. The subplot of the sisterly-friendship that developed between Jemima and Geraldine, and later between Jemima and Lauren, gave additional depth and substance to the story.
Thanks so much for sharing this book with me! It was a nice change of pace from my current reading material.

Since phenomenal1 has not returned my numerous PM's...I will assume she kept the book for herself and does not understand what a bookring is all about.
I will obtain another copy of the book and send it to Pashmack.

Bookring continued HERE.
Such a sad sad thing when someone lets the team down. It is an easy to understand concept; book arrives; read book; pm next person on list for address; mail book... why then does the Book Cemetery get so many entries such as this? What goes wrong?
Because we have no sure knowledge of the actual theft, booknapping, death or destruction of the dear departed, we can do no more than hold a Memorial Service on BoosterJ28's behalf. And such a Service was held today (Saturday 17 September 2005) in a full to overflowing Great Hall of the Chapel of the Lost. It was a very moving service, and the Choir gave a most wonderful rendition of "Two Little Ducks" in dirge time. The Memory of the Reading Companion was released into the ether down by the Pond of the Ducklings as the Facility flags were lowered to half mast and a 21 gun salute was fired.
Chief Mourner was BoosterJ28, and the stoicism and strength shown was a lesson to us all. The Management and Staff of the Book Cemetery extend sincere condolences at this sad time.
