While searching for the wreck of a Portuguese ship in the sandhills off the southern coast of NSW, archaeoloogist David Norfolk stumbles upon the body of a man murdered fifty years before. Meanwhile, in a shack nearby an old man lies dying. He knows something of the ship and its' mystery especially its link to the shadowy continent Java la Grande, charted by mampmakers in the 16th century. But does he hold the vital clue to the identity of the buried corpse?
David is determined to find out!

A maritime mystery with a difference!

I'm not sure about this book. I liked the storyline, but didn't like the distant, unemotional 'voice' thatw as used to tell such an emotional story of lust, greed and jealousy.

posted to Grooble on 23/7 from Broome
