~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sarah Walker has left the comforts of Northern California to move to L.A., where she rents an apartment and waits for her fiance, Benjamin, to join her. But when his transfer is delayed, his nonchalant attitude and refusal to help her with the rent lead Sarah to get a roommate. Enter Martika, an outspoken, glamorous clubber who is the exact opposite of quiet homebody Sarah. Despite Sarah's resistance, Martika begins to draw her out, taking her clubbing and helping her change her look. When Benjamin backs out of living with Sarah, she dumps him, tired of his self-centeredness and lack of concern for her. Martika couldn't be happier, and under her watchful eye, Sarah gradually becomes acclimated to L.A., until the protegee threatens to surpass the mentor. Martika has her own issues to deal with as well when she receives some surprising news that will change her life and force her to grow up.
