Registered this in the Surprise rings but forgot to register it on its own BCID. Sending it along to ProfWendi as soon as she sends confirmation of her address.
Not a bad book but I'm not a huge romance fan - I liked the backdrop of London during the war. And I enjoyed the way that the story began with Carrie talking to a modern Maude.
Thanks.

Found this in my mailbox this morning - thanks!
I'm hoping to find some time to read it this weekend, probably with a bottle or two of wine.. the ad "Timeless love stories that touch the heart" on the inside front cover has me a bit worried. What can I say, I'm a Charles Bukowski woman ;) ;) Soft and squishy love stories aren't really my thing, but it looks like it might have some history in it, so that should be interesting!

Well, I spent this past Saturday evening with this book and a bottle of homemade Chardonnay. I don't read fluffy romances, but I didn't mind spending a few hours with this one. I was disappointed that I predicted how the entire story was going to end up.. I was hoping I was wrong and would be a bit surprised. There were accurate surface-skimming references to historical events, as these novels are wont to have, but the author didn't go as deep into the events and characters as I would have liked. Still, it gave me an opportunity to feel self-indulgent without feeling guilty, so it was an enchanting way to spend the evening.
When I go to the post office this Saturday I'll pass it on to the next reader on the list...

Arrived. Thank you
It was hard to take it on my TBR pile...
It wasn´t inviting me...
But I really liked the shortnes and the simplicity of it! I really cryed in the end.
Thank you!
PS sending for BunnyLady´s address.
