Lent by a friend to my wife. My wife prefers books in Vietnamese, giving me the opportunity to read this.

I have read three of the stories so far and hope to read a few more before our holiday in Switzerland finishes.

This was a present to a Vietnamese friend from her German teacher. I hope she doesn't mid me registering it and putting a Bookcrossing sticker in her book.

Returned to our hostess when we left. I read at least six of the ten stories.

The author, a white american male tells a tale in a reasonably convincing, female Viet Queu (overseas) voice. How authentic? Well I eventually decided it was convincing because it conformed to the stereotypical, detached, delicate, lotus flower, other worldly image of Asian women. My Vietnamese orchid is more down to earth than that.

The Vietnamese owner of this book (am I allowed to say that books can have owners on the bookcrossing wen site?) has not read this book yet. I would be interested to know what she thinks of it.
