Journey through the life of an artist, told with sparse and chilling beauty. An immensely satisfying read.

was not quite my cup of tea. I'm sending this book to Ardy as part of a book trade

Received this book in the mail today from Shellyann- I'm looking forward to reading it. I always enjoy Margaret Atwood.

Margaret Atwood never fails to draw me completely into her tale. In this book a successful artist returns to her hometown. She confronts her past. The most intense part of the book was as Elaine captures the memories of the childhood bullying that she was subjected to by her "friends". This author can pull you into the pain and confusion of a 9 year old or a 13 year old completely.
I found it a difficult book to read emotionally- but I was unable to put it down before discovering how Elaine eventually comes to terms with it and becomes a strong woman.

Released on Wednesday, May 28, 2003 at Already been Bookcrossed Bookbox in Already Been Bookcrossed Bookbox, postal release USA.

I found this a very moving book. Hope the next person gets as much out of it as I did! Releasing into the Already Been Bookcrossed Bookbox.

I grabbed this out of the Already Been Bookcrossed Box.
I'm going to see if I can read it by Canada day, and then release it as part of the Canadian authors or themed books giant release type thing. I don't really know what to call it.
But if I don't read it in time, I'll pass it along to someone who will enjoy it enough to journal it.
